On this occasion, the Department will also be simultaneously hosting a meeting of the North British Mathematical Physics Seminar, and our two programmes have been designed to synchronize.

Geography

Click here for a web-friendly map of the University of York main (Heslington) campus, which is where the meeting will be held. Goodricke College is building no. 24, and houses the Mathematics Department (now the sole academic tenant). The SCR is on the first floor; take the stairs by the porters' desk and turn left (twice) at the top. The Roger Kirk Centre (building no. 31) is the newly opened amenity building for the college. Physics/Electronics is building no. 14, adjacent to Goodricke College, and room PL005 is a large teaching room on the ground floor situated towards the far end (walking from Goodricke). If you have trouble finding any of these venues, ask at Goodricke porter's desk, or the information desk in Physics.

Parking is available in any of the four General Car Parks (North, South, West or Central), of which South is most convenient, but be sure to feed the Pay and Display machine: £2 for a full day's parking. We will reimburse this charge. (However, we won't reimburse the cost of removing a wheel clamp!)

Bus no. 4 (the Turquoise Line) calls just outside the station and stops on University Road under the bridge connecting buildings 8 (Library) and 9 (Computer Services) on the campus map; it runs every 10 minutes, in theory.

Taxis from the station to the university cost about £5.
